"Playgrounds to the Pros: Legends of Peoria Basketball"From the late 1980s through the early 2000s, Peoria, Illinois was a basketball town with few peers. Incredible talent, coaching, rivalries and passion turned the hardscrabble Midwestern town into a hoops hotbed.
An amazing story of how high school athletes established a winning tradition and performed with grace and class despite the small-town politics that nearly led to the removal of a dedicated and admired coach.

A LITTLE ABOUT JEFF
Jeff has spent much of his life in basketball gyms and at baseball diamonds, including the last 20-plus years with a notebook in hand. He no longer works at daily newspapers (RIP functional daily newspapers) but that hasn’t stopped his combined love of sports and journalism. Jeff can still be found at Chicago area gyms watching and writing about basketball prospects, something he’ll probably never give up. Also, he hates onions. A lot.
